We’ve seen a few Clio 4 RS’s overheat quite bad lately! It’s worryingly becoming more common and seemingly down to a failure of the Aux drive belt, which runs the Water pump.nnThis is a tricky little service to carry out on these great little cars and often forgotten/over looked but not an overly expensive item to get replaced. If you don’t, it can cause a very expensive/potentially terminal issue - as these cars don’t have a coolant temperature gauge, the initial failure (“Charge System Fault”) doesn’t register as something sinister but running these all Aluminium engines without adequate coolant flow will warp the head/block faces which results in no compression! 😬nnThe belt and tensioner is due every 6yrs so be sure to have yours replaced if you’re close to or past this, as the belts love to snap at a silly stitched joint!
