WORK EXPERIENCE WEEK at Joyce Design! At Joyce Design, we understand how important apprenticeships and work experience are. Our industry is very diverse, covering Sales, Design, Manufacturing, and Installation. And we always love seeing enthusiastic people excited to learn the ropes! Rather than asking our work experience participants to make coffee and simply shadow our experienced staff, we encourage them to dive into all parts of our daily operations: we give them a project to follow from start to finish so they can really get to know our business and get value out of their time spent with us. We love seeing their creativity, whether it’s a wrap for a bike, skateboard, furniture, or a bedroom wall. Our latest student, Alf, who’s an avid chess player, decided to create a Chessboard table wrap inspired by the Lord of the Rings. He did online research to source a table and images, designed the artwork on our specialist software, got involved in the printing and laminating processes and installed the custom wrap. In his design, the black chess pieces represent Evil, and the white pieces symbolise Good. He also wrapped a second table to act as a graveyard for the captured pieces, adding to the whole thematic vibe. It's so rewarding to give young people the chance to experience a commercial environment and watch them deliver amazing projects! Roll on the next generation!
