Border Counties Rally ✅ nnAfter issues on Rally Nuts this was the next chapter. A huge thanks to Adam Westerby, another co-driver in the hot seat at short notice and a mega job on the notes.nnFriday was calm with scrutineering for both Fiestas done. It was time to relax, that was until Bushtec arrived with their Corsa. A faulty starter motor called for a quick change, and relax again!nnSaturday started well for us, another relaxed start to the day!? Nope! Jenkins Rallying co-driver, Eldo, locked his keys in his road car with his helmet and suit inside. The team tried to get in without damage but to no avail. The door release was double locked meaning the internal door handle would not work. With time ticking by and a start time approaching, the only option was to smash the window to get the keys out.nnThis resulted in glass cutting my arm and a very helpful marshall and paramedic insisting I had more than blue roll and tape on my cuts! Drama over, Jenkins Rallying were on their way to the start!n nFinally, a relaxed drive to the start for Adam and me…n nFirst stage was a clean run, no drama but a small push knowing it was a long-ish 1st stage.nnSS2 was much the same, fast and dusty in places.n nOnto the 1st service of the day…nThe front tyres had suffered but the rears looked like they had survived well, so a quick swap was all that was required.n nSS3 was straightforward with no issues. The car felt good and Adam was on it with the notes!n nSS4 was a different story.nWe were slowed for a car that had gone off, although there was no sign of it, just a front bumper!nnThen the stage got more tricky, and we slid wide on a square right and ended up in a ditch. No harm done, just a loss of some time.nnFurther on into the stage, a “5 left down” resulted in a spin, losing more time and knocking confidence in the grip levels.n nBack to the final service for a check-over, no damage to report other than the rear tyres, which needed to be replaced for the final 2 stages.n nThe final two stages were no problem but we lacked speed.n nOverall, a cracking event for the whole Ignition Motorsport team with solid points haul for Ignition Motorsport, Jenkins Rallying, and Bushtec.n nOnwards to Kielder with Adam committed to the next round!nnTutts Clump Proper Cidernn#rally #rallying #rallycar #ignitionmotorsport...
