What is a class 4 MOT? If you drive a vehicle over three years old, you must keep it in a safe and roadworthy condition. The MOT test checks that your vehicle meets road safety and environmental standards. Class 4 MOTs are suitable for: cars, small vans and motor caravans (up to 3,000kg). MOT tests can only be carried out by trained and experienced specialists at centres authorised by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA). What checks are included in the Class 4 MOT test? A Class 4 MOT test takes about an hour to complete and covers: - Tyres & Wheels - Brakes - Horn - Exhaust System - Mirrors - Doors - Exhaust Emissions - Towbar - Boot and Tailgate - Seats - Vehicle Structure - Fuel System - Seat belt & SRS - Steering & Suspension - Wipers & Washer - Windscreen - Electrical - Lights - Registration Plate - Bonnet Are you due for your MOT test? Why not book a convenient hourly appointment online at a time and date to suit you. The MOT test isn't the same as having your vehicle serviced and doesn't check its general mechanical condition. But we always recommend that you get your vehicle regularly serviced on top of the compulsory MOT test. Class 4 MOT testing is available at selected centres.
